Bengkulu Province is geographically located on the west coast of Sumatra island, longitudinal in parallel to Bukit Barisan (Mountain Chain) and occupying 19.789 Km² area. The Population is 1.600.000 spreading throughout 10 regencies and city, Muko-muko regency, North Bengkulu regency, Central Bengkulu, South Bengkulu regency, Kaur regency, Seluma regency, Kepahiang regency, Rejang lebong regency, Lebong regency and Bengkulu City.

The east region of Bengkulu province consists of highlands and mountain areas covered by mild air. This region has some unique, natural phenomena such as volcanic areas that can be visited closely, hot spring water which is good for health, waterfalls, and lakes including the seven-colour lake.
Besides, this region is known as the centre for vegetables and fruits, not to mention tea plantations outspread like a green, cool tapestry all over the region.

The coastline reaches 535Km long. The marine waters and the small islands, such a Tikus island, Mego island, Dua and Enggano island of Bengkulu Province are rich of various types of fish and posses the tourist attraction potentials for marine tourism, particularly the Enggano island which is the outer island from Indonesia's boundaries.

Most of the areas of Bengkulu Province are still covered by tropical rain forest with rare flora and fauna inside it, such as orchid, Kibut flower (2M Height), Raflesia flower (the biggest flower in the world with diameter reaching 1.5M), Sumatra Tiger, Sumatra Elephant, Sumatra Rhino and Honey Bear. Sumatra Elephants have succesfully been bred and become one of tourist attractions in the centre of Elephant training.

Apart from the British inheritance, Bengkulu City has an important significance in the historical succession of the struggle of Bengkulu People. The commander Diponegoro, Sentot Alibasya, President Soekarno and his wife Fatmawati who was the first lady and declared as the national patriot, were deported in Bengkulu City.
